A very popular Chinese peasant dish that uses tender and moist yam to make a tasty and substantial meal.

Ingredients
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1 tbsp dried shrimps
- 1 tbsp dried scallops, shredded
- 1 cup Heavenly Rice
- 2 cups chicken stock
- 2 tbsp Chinese sausage, thinly sliced
- 200g yam, peeled and cut into 2cm cubes
Garnishes
- 2 tsp coriander leaves
- 2 tsp fried shallots
Method
- In a wok, heat the oil until hot. Fry the garlic and dried shrimps until fragrant.
- Add the rice, stock, Chinese sausage and yam. Transfer everything to a rice cooker and cook as you normally would for rice.
- Serve garnished with coriander leaves and fried shallots.
